MTA BIOREP

Bioceramic reparative cement

MTA – Mineral Trioxide Aggregate – has established its use in Endodontics is due to the clinical results proven through numerous scientific studies. However, due to the physical properties inherent to the product powder, the “sandy” consistency hinders manipulation, reproducibility after mixing, and the transport of material to the site of repair. To improve these characteristics, ITENA has developed a new formulation called MTA BIOREP. This new formula preserves all the chemical and biological properties of the original MTA, which guarantees the success of the treatment but changes its physical handling properties. This results in a product with greater plasticity, simplifying manipulation and the insertion into the dental cavity.

Composition:

  • Tricalcium silicate 3CaO.SiO2
  • Dicalcium silicate 2CaO.SiO2 Tricalcium aluminate 3CaO.Al2O3
  • Calcium oxide CaO
  • Calcium tungstate CaWO4
  • Water
  • Plasticiser

Indications:

  • MTA BIOREP is indicated for adult permanent teeth and pediatric primary teeth for the following treatments:
  • Treatment of root canal and furcation perforations, caused by carious or iatrogenic lesions
  • Treatment of root perforations, caused by internal resorption
  • Pulp capping
  • Pulpotomy (removal of the affected crown portion of the pulp, preserving the vitality and function of the remaining radicular portion)
  • Apexogenesis (induction of root development in vital teeth with an inflamed coronal pulp)
  • Apexification (induction of a mineralized barrier formation at the root
  • tip of young permanent teeth with incomplete root development and a necrotic pulp)
  • Periapical surgery with reverse filling

Contra-indications:

  • MTA BIOREP is not suitable for root canal filling.
  • MTA BIOREP should not be put in contact with gingival sulcus.
  • MTA BIOREP should not be used during the acute phase of pathology.
